Doctor Who Magazine 436

The new edition of Doctor Who Magazine goes on sale today (in all good newsagents and supermarkets)… and, well, it’s a bit special. This bumper 100-page issue celebrates the life and times of Nicholas Courtney. Friends and colleagues remember the man who played Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart for over 40 years. Amongst the tributes are my interviews with former Doctors David Tennant and Tom Baker. Exclusive audio extracts here:

David Tennant (DWM 436)

Tom Baker (DWM 436)

Elsewhere, I speak to Alex Kingston about that revelation. “The question now is, can River Song regenerate?” she considers. “Does she, at least to a certain point, have regenerative powers?”

And I preview Miracle Day, the upcoming fourth series of perennial Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, travelling to LA to chat to showrunner Russell T Davies and actors John Barrowman (“The fact that there’s a bisexual hero on television, played by an openly gay man, is very, very different for the American audience”), Eve Myles (“It’ll make you giddy, it’ll make you sick, it’ll make you laugh, it’ll make you cry”) and Kai Owen (“This is a global event, and no more so than in Wales”).

Plus, A Fact of Fiction on 1970 serial Inferno (Nick Courtney’s fave Doctor Who story), Russell T Davies returns to Production Notes (*Miranda Hart-like glace to camera*), the Time Team tackles The Long Game, there are nuns with guns in Part Two of Jonathan Morris and Dan McDaid’s comic strip Apotheosis, and all the latest news, reviews, previews, and competitions.

Comments:

    • “thanks a bunch guys, realy helpfull.”

You do know I only *write* for DWM, don’t you? I don’t deliver the magazine to branches of WH Smith, et al, personally.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble getting hold of the new issue, but have you tried asking at your local newsagent? (Or the WH Smith on Broad Street, Reading?) They can order it in for you especially.
