Live Interviews

“If you’re going to say, ‘I want to change society,’ you’ve got to be able to take everything on – the good and the bad.” On 7 November 2008, a few weeks after publication of The Writer’s Tale, I interviewed Russell T Davies at London’s National Theatre, in front of an 800-strong audience. You can find a few photos on the official Writer’s Tale website, and a live recording of the 45-minute interview right here (thanks to Angus MacKechnie, Sarah Mowat and Emily Thomas at the National):

“The reason I’m talking so much is, I haven’t seen a human being in days.” On 29 October 2009, I interviewed Steven Moffat at Cheltenham’s annual Screenwriters’ Festival. It was his first major interview since taking over as Doctor Who showrunner. You can read the BBC News report or Digital Spy’s ‘live-blog’ of the 80-minute interview, or listen to the following recording (thanks to the festival’s Ron Brunwin):

Comments:

  1. Love the live interviews, brilliant. Im a great admirer of Russell T. Davies and Steven Moffat and would love to hear any other interviews you have done, whether with them or not. Keep up the good work. (p.s. love the writers tale, my favourite book, seriously)

  2. Just a quick note to say I absolutely loved the writers tale – one of the best books I have ever read, more honesty than you ever would normally get but with brilliant touchs of humour which just make it a joy to read. Fantastic to get a completely new view of the production of the best show on TV!
